Silva Shipping is a full-service port operator in Kaskinen.
STEVEDORING
Stevedoring is performed in a conventional manner with hydraulic quay cranes equipped with automatic hoisting devices. There are 2 cranes in the size category of 65 to 140 tonnes. If necessary, more cranecapasity is available in the area. The stevedoring output of one shift with two cranes is about 6000 cubic metres of sawn products or tonnes of pulp. Operators specialising in liquid and dry bulk products also operate at the port of Kaskinen.
FORWARDING
We receive our customers goods mainly as trailer lorrys, store them as shipping batches in fully weather-proof storage facilities and deliver them at shipside. It is our responsibility to ensure that goods are delivered to customers in good condition according to consignors? instructions. All documentation for shipping batches and contacts with consignors is dealt with by our forwarding department.
CLEARANCE
Our clearing agents operate as local agents for the ship and the shipping company at the port of Kaskinen. We ensure that the ship is provided with all the necessary services by the authorities and suppliers and that the visit to the port takes place smoothly and efficiently. The number of ships cleared by us is about 150 per year.
